Sharda University has always believed in the strength which lies within every woman. We believe that goddess Sharda who bestows knowledge and wisdom can also serve the country in the form of a Durga. National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of the Indian Army. It was laid down in 1948 and has successfully stood for the test of time and continues to meet the requirements expected of it. It is open to school and college students voluntarily, it’s a tri-service organization that comprises of Army, Navy, and Air Wing. It engages in grooming the youth of the country into a disciplined and patriotic citizen. In NCC cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The NCC is a responsive, learning, and continuously evolving organization. All the copious activities are guided by the core value and motto of Unity and Discipline which endeavour to instill in each cadet of Sharda University and all over India. It aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure. We the Shardan cadets of NCC has always been upholding the unity of India and undertook positive community service with the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings since 2016. NCC believes in training motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the nation regardless of which carrier they choose. Achieving the same Shardan cadet Saloni got selected for the sole representation of 31UP Girls BN for para jumping and Sharda held its very first Rank Award Ceremony.

NCC History and Organization

The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps act of 1948, It was raised on 15 July 1948. the National Cadet Corps can be considered as a successor of the University Officer Training Corps which was established by the British In 1942. The National Cadet Corps act was accepted by the Governor-General and on 15 July 1948 NCC came into existence. NCC Is headed by a Director-General, an army officer of the rank of Lieutenant General, Who is responsible for the functioning of the NCC in the country through the headquarters situated at Delhi.

“I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Corps. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer, I will participate in every camp both sincerely and wholeheartedly".
