Dr. Amitansu Pattanaik was working as Senior Professor in Galgotias University, Greater Noida and scientist in DRDO since 2001. He carried out Ph. D. in Lasers & laser materials (Optoelectronics) from Dept of Physics & Astrophysics, University of Delhi. He has published around 150 research papers in international/ national journals and conferences and 15 patents. He has received Odisha Chief Ministers Merit award, UGC Merit award, Young Scientist of the year Award by International Foundation for Environment and Ecology, Young Innovator award and many more. He has visited abroad so many times namely US (University of California, UCLA), France (CNRS), Germany (Wurzberg University), Spain (CSIC), Italy (ICTP), Norway (Bergen University), Switzerland (ETHZ, Zurich), Japan (Mitaka), South Korea (Seoul), China (Shanghai), Taiwan (Taipei), Indonesia and many more countries for invited talks and guest lectures. He has guided 4 PhD students and more than 500 Mtech/Btech Project students. His research interests are lasers, laser remote sensing (LIDAR), geo-hazard monitoring using DRONE, GIS and optical sensors, instrumentations for disaster early warning.
